With only 40 more triangle blocks to sew, I'm approaching the next stage where the triangles will be sewn together to create the illusion effect.
I can't wait to see how all the triangles will fit together so I simulated in PhotoShop how my finished quilt might look. I am pleased with the result.
I was concerned that the fabrics I've used were not combining too well so I scanned each block, scaled it and rotated it to match how it will fit into the layout. Then copied and pasted the images of the triangles onto the layout diagram.
I am pleased with how the aqua colour dominates and I think this will suit my bedroom better than I imagined would be possible.
Probably only two or three days more sewing and will start sewing the triangles together.
Very satisfied with my progress.
After completing 8 of each of the 16 blocks I'm now doing an extra 20 of each block to make a total of 28 of each block, A to P, to complete the main part of the quilt.
There are 24 different fabrics used for the trapezoids and I'm finding I really need to concentrate to ensure I use the correct fabric, in the right order, for each block.
On a roll now. The first 8 blocks of G, H & I have been stitched.
I need to pay more attention and stop rushing.
I have stitched the first 8 of each of Blocks A, B & C so far. It IS a start, and I'm enjoying doing it.
I wish I didn't have double vision because it makes lining up the edge of the fabric with the edge of the ruler quite difficult.
I really enjoyed making overalls for my youngest great nephew. They were meant to be for his first birthday but I was a couple of weeks late getting them to him. Unfortunately the overalls were much too long for Eddie and I don't think they will go around his tummy when the legs are the right size for him.
He looks so cute in them.
It's finished but I'm not happy with it.
