I will need 7 strips of each coloured fabric to complete a Queen Size quilt ... but for now I have cut only 5 two inch strips of each. That will keep me going for now.
I cut 12 strips of the background navy fabric for the triangles and have commenced cutting that into 2½ inch triangles. Eventutally I'll need 16 strips (448 triangles) but I'm happy to just get started.
All the printed fabric has been sorted and labelled. I am using plastic bags with zip slides to keep the fabric clean and sorted. I may change the labels around if I find some fabrics don't work well next to each other. For now, I'll just see what happens.
I am finding it difficult to cut the navy fabric on my dark green cutting mat so plan to get a light coloured cutting mat for this task. My double vision makes it hard enough to focus and measure and cut accurately, without that dark mat's colour being too close to the fabric colour. I think the cost outlay will be worthwhile.
The cut triangles are going into a plastic bowl.
